Swap Party

Okay, I have decided to have a Swap Party for all of you ladies at my house in the near future. This will be a time to bring any shoes, clothes, handbag, movies, books, home accesories, etc. that you no longer want and swap them out for things that other ladies bring! That way, you can come get rid of things that you no longer want and end up with some great free stuff, too! We'll provide some food and beverages and make this a fun time for us to socialize and swap. Anything left over at the end of the evening will be donated to Goodwill.

Let me know if this is something you'd be interested in. More details to follow!

Free Meal at KFC!

Okay, so I definitely won't be participating in this once since I'm a vegetarian (and PETA calls KFC "Kentucky Friend Cruelty"... haha, I'm sorry, I think that's funny), but if you're a meat-a-saurus, you can go get a free meal at KFC by printing off a coupon here! The only catch: You must print this by 9am tomorrow, 5/6.

Book and DVD Swap

Okay, I have officially found the coolest websites ever. No, seriously.

I am a bookworm. I could seriously probably read for the rest of my life and be happy. As much as I would love to go to Barnes and Noble and just go on a shopping spree, that just isn't in the budget, so I don't get new books a whole lot. I found a website through one of my friends called
Paperback Swap. Here, you list the books you want to swap and you can choose any book in their system (and they have TONS) to get. All you have to do is pay for shipping when sending out your book- which you can do from the computer and mail from your mailbox so you don't even have to go to the post office. I've already mailed off several books and I think that this website is absolutely AMAZING!

The other website that I'm a fan of is their sister site, Swap-A-DVD. Same concept, but for DVDs. I think this is so great... I have a huge amount of DVDs and some I don't ever plan on watching again. Rather than trying to sell them, I can list them on this website and get whatever movies I want!

I highly recommend going to both of these websites and checking them out to see if they're something you would use. If you do, be sure to put my name, Callie White, in the "who referred you" box. :) I hope that y'all will take advantage of these websites and love them as much as I do!

Cheap Milk

Okay, if you go through milk, NOW is the time to stock up... milk is $1.99 a gallon at Kroger right now!
For real, this is super-cheap for Georgia... usually the best price I can find is around $2.69 at Publix.

You CAN freeze milk (cool, right?), so if you have a big family or use milk a lot, go stock up and freeze what you're not going to use immediately. Tip- when you get the milk out of the freezer, write that day's date on the container with a Sharpie so you'll know when it's fresh.

Mail In Rebates

I am a HUGE fan of mail-in rebates. I think they're the greatest thing... ever. Lots of people don't like to be bothered by the hassle of rebates, but if you're willing to spend just a few minutes on them, it's totally worth it!

One of my favorite websites is Hot Coupon World. They have a whole forum dedicated to rebates. When people find a rebate, they post it along with the information on the rebate. Definitely a great resource to find some obscure rebates! Here's the link:
http://www.hotcouponworld.com/forums/gimme-my-money-back/

Some tips for rebates:

1. Keep all of your receipts!
Lots of times, manufacturer will offer a rebate after you've purchased the item, and you will kick yourself if you don't save your receipt for times like these!

2. Keep everything together.
I'm not very organized, so I have to have a separate drawer for my rebates. I keep a list of all the rebates I've sent off for and then mark them off when I receive my check.

3. Check for coupons!
Lots of times, the manufacturer will offer coupons on items that they're giving rebates on. These are awesome, because you still receive the full retail price back on the rebate! The way this works: When you use coupons, they come up at the bottom of your receipt just listed as "manufacturer coupon"- they do not show up next to the item. When you send it your receipt, you circle the item and the price next to the item. This is what the manufacturer reimburses you for- they don't care if you've used a coupon or not.

Rebates are a great way to actually MAKE money if you're willing to spend the money out of pocket and have the patience to wait for your check.
