Today's Deal!
Okay, every time I go shopping, I just get really excited...
I went to Kroger on my lunch break today on a mission! I needed Excedrin, a Febreze candle, and some Lloyd's barbeque. Excedrin was on sale for $3.69, the Febreze candle was a limited holiday edition so it was on sale for $3.99, and the barbeque was on manager's special for $3.29. After using several coupons, my grand total was (after tax)... drumroll please... $4.37!!
I used my P&G eSavers (the online coupons) in addition to several paper coupons, and I definitely came out ahead. Yay!!
What great deals have you gotten lately??

Knorr Pasta Sides
If y'all like the Knorr Pasta Sides (my favorite is Creamy Chicken... yum!), they are usually $1.49 a piece at Publix, which is not a bad price to pay for a lunch... however, this week, they are buy one get one free, which makes them $0.75 and $0.74 a piece. Also, if you go to www.Knorr.com, you can print out 2 $0.60 off coupons (it says for Knorr Sides Plus, but they will let you use them on the BOGO items). If you use these, you are paying $0.15 a piece for the Knorr Pasta Sides! Now that is a lunch price that you can't beat!

Okay...
I just have to brag for a minute.
I went to Kroger on my lunch break because I needed a few grocery items. I needed a box of Bisquick, 2 boxes of Philly Cream Cheese, a chicken, and a box of Prilosec OTC. Not much, right? Well, it was when I got to the checkout! All together (the Prilosec being the most expensive), my total was $26.13. Ouch! And for just a few items! Prices are really going up.
... However... I had at least one coupon for every item. I had a coupon for $5 the Prilosec loaded onto my Plus card, plus an additional paper coupon for $3. The Prilosec ended up costing me $1.99.
The chicken was on manager's special AND I had a dollar off coupon- I ended up paying $1.73 for a WHOLE chicken!
The Bisquick was on sale, plus a dollar off coupon loaded on my plus card and a paper coupon for $0.60.
The Philly cream cheese was 2 for $5, plus I had a coupon on my plus card and another paper coupon for a dollar off.
So I ended up paying $8.73 for $26 worth of groceries!
It really does pay to use coupons- I promise!! :)

People are really budgeting for the new year with the economy going down. More and more people are grocery shopping with coupons and eating at home rather than going out. Here are a few tips for those of you looking to save some money in 2009!
1. PLAN AHEAD!
Go ahead and make your menus for the week. Yes, it's a little time consuming, but it will end up saving you money. Make a menu- even if it's just for dinners. That way, you won't buy anything you don't need at the grocery. It also saves you time during the week- especially if you can fix meals and freeze them.
2. Look for specific coupons!
Once you've made your grocery list and menu, go to specific websites and seek out coupons. For instance, if you know you want Chicken of the Sea tuna, go to their website to see if they have any printable coupons! Just a tip- Marcy told me that WalMart does NOT accept printable coupons, so don't try to use yours at WalMart. Instead, try Kroger- Kroger and Publix both double any coupon $0.50 and under every day of the week.
3. Check out some great grocery websites!
Here are a few of my favorites:
